Denver, also known as the Mile High City, is the gateway to the Rockies. It is centrally located in Colorado and the most populous city in the region. For veterans seeking a more personal experience, The Bill Daniels Veteran Service Center, located in Denver, Colorado provides a face to face meeting environment. Veterans can seek guidance and aid across a variety of different areas: housing, employment, ex-military benefits and more. The Denver branch officially opened in August of 2015 and with so many services under one roof, it has quickly become the go-to place for veterans.

For Colorado veterans seeking specific military service benefits information, The Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs, also located in Denver, aids Colorado Veterans in securing benefits they may be entitled to through their service. Unlike some of the other veteran resources, this facility also helps active military.

Created in 2005, American Military Family is a nonprofit headquartered in Brighton, Colorado. The nonprofit’s mission is to help veterans dealing with suicide and other mental or financial difficulties. Their mission is to provide emergency financial assistance, mental health intervention and therapy, and peer support to United States Military Veterans, Troops and their Families who are battling the effects of Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury.

The Denver area also has a complete VA hospital. Since 1951 the Eastern Colorado Healthcare System has provided quality care to veterans in the Denver and Colorado community. Due to the aging of this hospital, the VA has funded the construction of a new one near Aurora. The new VA hospital will be complete in 2018.
