We are about to meet with an organization in So. Cal called War Era Veterans. Seems like a "for profit" group that helps with application and the Vet's asset protection. We are doing this for our dad, who will likely qualify for A & A. Any thoughts about these kinds of organizations. We are willing to work with someone to help negotiate or assist through the application process.

We have nothing positive to say about this group. They use this pension benefit for the sole purpose of selling annuities and other financial products. They will tell you that the applicant can only have 35-40K in assets, and will not look long-term at how those products will impact Medicaid down the road if it should ever be needed.

The truth of the matter is that your Dad could have much more in assets and still qualify without having to "restructure" his assets, but they won't tell you that.

If you are looking for another resource to determine Dad's eligibility and what is really in his best interest, private message me.
