THIS IS MY FIRST POSTING ON THIS WEBSITE FOR VETERANS. I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING MY BENEFITS. I JOINED THE NAVAL RESERVE IN 1956, SERVED TWO YEARS ACTIVE DUTY 1958-1960, HONORABLY DISCHARGED AND SERVED A TOTAL OBLIGATION OF EIGHT YEARS. WOULD I BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE ASSISTED LIVING BENEFIT. I AM NOW 71 YEARS OLD.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP FELLOW VETERANS.

    Jim,

I am sorry to say that based on your dates of service, you would not be entitled to non-service connected pension with A&A. There is no wartime service during the dates you provided. The only thing possibly is service-connected compensation if you were treated for an injury or disease in service. Sorry to not be able to deliver better news.
