    Hi,

Q: Is there an advantage to filing: VA Form 21-0966 (INTENT TO FILE A CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION AND/OR PENSION) when we plan to later file the A&A package via the Fully Developed Claim (FDC) approach?

We are thinking we shouldn't file 21-0966 as we have not yet collected the needed medical expenses to reduce income; nor has veteran been admitted to Asstd Living facility yet...so....it seems that we should just wait and do it all at once with FDC. Is this a correct assumption?

    Thank you!

    dw999,

You haven't even decided what the situation is going to be, so don't file this until final decisions are made and those expenses are being incurred.
