I will be applying for Veteran A & A for my father. He resides in an assisted living facility but still owns his home in the same state. He cannot live in his home and needs the care of the assisted living facility. Does the VA still consider his home as his primary residence? If not, is it considered an assest to be included in his net worth?

His house does not count towards his assets. To save confusion, I would recommend using his address at the 'assisted care facility' as his primary residency.

My mother resides in an assisted living facility that is in the same state that she owns a home. (WI). I used the assisted living address as her primary address on the VA claim form.
