I share the following message received from a daughter who has been successful in obtaining the Aid and Attendance pension for her mother. We are proud to be a part of this story:

I want to thank you for your web site and I know that it was beneficial to my aquiring the benefits for my Mother. I gathered all the info and filled out all the forms and when my brother had them looked over by our local VFW - person who specializes in helping families to obtain the aid and attendance benefits and asks for NO money - he said that my paper work was the most complete he had ever seen. We received the benefits 6 months from the day we applied. I feel so blessed that we were able to do this for my Mother who has no assets and receives only Social Security and a small pension from where my Dad worked (doesn\'t even pay for the retirement health care costs). She is in an assisted living home and is doing wonderfully so far. She could not afford this home without the Aid and Attendance benefits. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

I am glad to see another success story and I hope that the VFW and the other service organizations will see that there needs to be more outreach done for our veterans and widows in obtaining these benefits. Family members should not have to complete these applications. All national veteran service organizations are forbidden to ask for or accept money to complete these applications because they are given money by the federal and state government to assist with this need. They also fund these services through their membership dues and fund raisers.

Bottom-line is that your website provided the information that helped this widow to get what she is entitled to. You are to be commended. I don't think most people know that you are not receiving financial assistance to cover the cost of the service you are providing. This is your gift of love to our veterans and their families. Thank you.

It is so very wonderful to hear about a success story (especially one that seemed to go very smoothly without the usual headaches and loopholes). I applaud you as advocate does for your tireless and giving spirit to help the veterans and their familes receive what they are entitled to. I hope to report my own success story in the near future - but if I have to wait a long time - I will not give up!!
Thank you again for this website.
