92-year-old mom was approved for Aid and Attendance after 7 month wait! I am unclear as to how to be appointed as her fudiciary to receive accumulated funds. Do I simply wait to be contacted by the VA, or is there a form or letter I should send for that process to begin? She has dementia, and I am her primary caregiver and only child.

Congratulations on getting through and in a pretty short amount of time.

I replied to your post asking for the wording to respond to the VA on incompetency, which I will post here as well. You should also include a letter from your Mom stating that she wants you appointed as her Fiduciary.

    Good luck with it all!

Please be advised that (parent's name) and I have no issue with the VA finding of incompetence and wish to proceed with the appointment of a fiduciary. We wish to appoint myself (her/his insert your relationship to the veteran) as fiduciary. I understand that I must be interviewed prior to that appointment and would appreciate such an interview be scheduled as soon as possible.
