My dad was approved for aid and attendance last October. He began receiving the benefit in December and we were notified he was due retroactive benefits. He was ruled incompetent due to Parkinson's and dementia. I was appointed his fiduciary in July. I have set up the fiduciary account and it is in place. When can we expect his retroactive payment? Any timeline at all?

You should see that payment in his account within 60 days from the approval.

If you do not get the accrued payment at the end of 60 days, you need to contact the VA directly and make that inquiry. I do not recommend just waiting several months before following up on it.

Congrats on getting through the entire process.
