    Short story:
My WWII Veteran dad passed away in February of 2012
Mom had Alzheimer's and required full-time care, she fell, broke her hip and went to assisted living
We filled out all papers for the VA Aid and Attendance benefit
My mom finally received first Aid & Attendance check May 2013
Sadly my mom passed away the same month she received her first check, May 2013

Will the VA pay her estate the funds she was entitled to (from February 2012 to May 2013)?

Our condolences on the loss of your Mom.

Sad to say that the VA will not pay the accrued monies that she never received.

If any family members had paid care expenses on her behalf, they could have filed against accrued monies, but you only have one year in order to make that claim, and time has passed for that option.
