What is the maximum cash on hand (in an account) a claimant can have in a bank account? I thought it was $2,500.00, but I'm seeing the $80,000.00 or less asset limit on the eligibility.

The total asset limit for a veteran and/or spouse filing for the A&A benefit is about $80,000. There is not necessarily a limit as to how much cash they can have on hand. It would vary depending on their income each month and the amount they are paying for care each month.
