We are thinking of apply for Aid and Attendance for my father, who is 94 and a WWII veteran. He is currently receiving some in home help. I understand there is a limit on assets. to be eligible....he currently has about $100,000 in the bank. That is all the assets he and my mother have aside from their home and one vehicle. They live only on SS which is about $1400/month. Should I go ahead and submit the application now, or wait until we have spent his money down to $80,000 (which I understand is the threshold for receiving help). I've read other comments in this forum and seems like a lot of people have a lot more assets and are applying. Any help would be appreciated.
