I called the VA to check on my 95 year old mothers A&A claim and they told me that it was in the notification stage. They told me that she would receive a letter with their decision in about 10 days and that they could tell me whether the claim had be accepted or not.
Does this mean that her claim was rejected? I have read on the boards that money is deposited into the applicants bank account before they are notified? Please advise.

They won't tell you the decision on the claim.

Depending on their decision and effective date, if it was approved, you should see a deposit in Feb.

Fingers crossed for good luck for you!

Are funds usually applied at the beginning of the month? Thank you

She was diagnosed with late stage dementia. If application is approved will a fiduciary have to be appointed before funds are deposited?

They will start the monthly pension, but any accrued amounts will be held until you go through the Fiduciary process.
