My Mom is a surviving spouse. She is almost 94 and her needs are increasing. As it stands now, she has less than 80,000
in asssets. Her monthly income is just about the same as her expenses-perhaps expenses are a hundred or two over. I suspect that in the next year this will change and her expenses will be a couple thousand per month more than her income.
Can the amount she receives change as her financial needs change. My question-should I apply now or wait until her needs
    are greater

    Hi Vicki D,
Always Apply now - if she gets denied for excessive income or gets a partial award, write the VA every time her medical expenses go up - if she gets denied for excessive net worth, write the VA every time her assets decrease by $5k.
