The VeteranAid.org Online Store
Part of the VeteranAid.org
Mission Statement is to educate the public about the VA Aid &
Attendance Special Pension. While we have been very successful
in creating a popular, highly respected website that disseminates
much of the A& A information needed, we realize that a broader reach
is necessary. Unfortunately, our efforts to bring the A & A
Special Pension into the light through National Media outlets have
brought minimal success. The topic is controversial and
clearly shows the shortcomings of the VA with respect to the
Veterans it serves. Most National Media outlets will not even
consider airing this type of information. We have had more
success on the local level, but the reach to the people who need
this information is too small.
Therefore, we have found it
necessary to raise the funds necessary to air our own Public Service
Announcements, both on radio, satellite radio and television.
These commercial spots are costly and while we would gladly pay for
the advertisements from our own pockets, the reality is that the
money is just not there to run a quality spot for the length of time
it would take to educate the general public.
Thus the idea of the VeteranAid.org Online
Store.
Profits
from the sale of items on this site will go towards our Advertising
Fund. Once we have reached a predetermined amount, we will
begin production of two to three on-air spots. Radio and
satellite radio spots will come first, followed by television.
The
decision to open the VeteranAid.org Online Store was not a easy one
to make, as there is always the possibility that the presence of an
online store will be misconstrued as an effort to use the A&A
Special Pension as "marketing gimmick". We have seen the A&A
Special Pension used this way before and have cautioned our readers
to be on the lookout for these types of scams.
As we
mark our 2 year anniversary as the expert website on the Aid &
Attendance Special Pension, we are comfortable with the fact that
the overall purpose of the site has not and will not change.
We will continue to fight for the rights of our Veterans to receive
the benefits they have earned and deserve. We will continue to
offer free information about the Aid & Attendance Special Pension
and will continue to uphold our belief that change must come to the
Veterans' Administration. Through this effort, we are hopeful
that we can bring that message to a wider audience.
