My sister, on behalf of our father, submitted an Aid and Attendance application the first week of March 2011.  All directions on the website were followed and we feel everything was thoroughly answered. Our father seemed to qualify on all counts. Could someone please help us find out how we can get a final resolution to this?  My father's health continues to decline, and his sole caregiver (his wife) has encountered failing health in the past 4 months.  We do not have the luxury of continuing to wait.  Any and all help on finding answers is greatly appreciated!

You or your sister need to call the VA immediatley and inquire as to the status of the application.  If you cannot get an answer there, you need to involve your Dad's Senator or Congressperson, as there is no excuse for you not to have a ruling on this 12 months out.

I hope that you have not been waiting all this time without following up, as after 6 months max you should have been pressing on this.

Please let us know what you find out.

You can track the status of his application on the VA website.  www.ebenefits.va.gov

If it's been that long, the VA probably kicked it back to your dad (or your sister) for additional info and somehow the letter/request from VA was lost in the mail.

Applications are known to go MIA for various reasons, so it may just be sitting in limbo, and if no one has called on it, that's where it will stay.
