What great news about the COLA increase!  This will help so many veterans and their families with the rising costs they have faced in the past 2 years!!

As a point of clarification, since this increase is effective December 1, 2011, when will recipients actually receive the increase?  Is in the January 1, 2012 payment since VA payments "lag" by one month?

There was a lot going on with 11/11/11 this year from weddings to all sorts of folks thinking it was a "lucky" number.  Veterans' Day fell on 11/11/11, so the $11.11 amount was chosen for that reason.

Did the Housebound Benefit also increase?

All levels of Improved Pension should have seen a 3.6% increase.

If the increase was not in the Jan. 2012 pament for Dec. should I inquire?

You need to contact the VA and inquire why you have not seen an increase.  You would have seen the increase in Jan's check since it went into effect 12/11.

I did and they have opened a case?? Anyway I was informed hundered of thousands of vets have to have there colas entered manually. There are still many like myself still waiting from what Ive read. Thank You
