HI, my dad is a 78 yr purple heart korean vet.  He is drawing 30% disability with appeals pending.
WE have sent the 21-2680.  They told him over the phone to submit a form showing he was unemployable.  We went to the local va and he filled it out and submitted it.
Will they reduce his disability if he is approved for A&A?
They have most of his files on hand due to the disability claim.
What else do we need to submit?

You can only have one - either Disability (Compensation) or Pension - if you are trying to switch to Pension, you must be very clear about that, otherwise they assume you are trying to claim A&A on your Compensation claim which only those who are 100% disabled can do.  Since you are going from a non-financially based program to one that is fiancially based, i think you need the 21-527.

We are trying to get them either someone to come in and help them or into assisted living.  If they give him the assisted living aid will they take away his disability?

Yes - once you switch the other goes away - you receive the higher award amount.
