Since my father was a WWII vet, my mother received monthly Aid and Attendance payments. I was appointed her fiduciary, but she died a couple months after that and before the accrued amount was paid. I submitted the 21-601 form along with funeral expenses. After 18 months, there is nothing but an occasional form letter saying there are a great number of claims and action on mine may be delayed.

In the FAQs it states 6-12 months is the normal amount of time to receive this. Is there something else I should do? Is it taking this long for others?

You need to contact the Senator's office for who would have been your Mom's representative, and have them file an inquiry as to the status of the claim. 18 months is way past the time frame for this to have been resolved.

Please let us know if that gets this resolved for you.
