  1. I am a little confused. Have read that copays for medical expenses can be used to reduce your income and saw on another page that only prescriptions copays are used for income reduction. Is it different for VA Health and VA Aid and Attendence

    As far as reducing your income, I'm not sure what you mean. When one applies for the Aid and Attendance benefit they have to report all of their income, even before they may use that income to pay for medical expenses or prescriptions. For instance, if someone were to receive $1000 for the month in social security and they spend $500 in that same month on prescriptions, you have to report both to the VA when using those numbers to fill out the application for the benefit. I hope that makes sense?
