My father recently was awarded Aid and Attendance pension while living at independent living facility. He's 87 with several medical issues.Living there so he can be close to me.
They provide meals, life alert system but I provide other care.
If he pays me for this assistance, how much should I charge? Is this taxable income for me? (i'm an RN working part time))Can some of the rent be included?
Do we need to keep records of what he pays out from his pension?

    Thanks for any help.

Generally charges would be keeping in line with a fair cost were you to hire outside help to come in and do the things you are doing. Family members often will take less simply due to the financial situation.

The pension is tax-free for your Dad, but it would be income for you the same as any other source. Usually having a 1099 issued at the end of the year.
