Income limits on A&A

  1. If I am reading this right your income level for a couple has to be under 19,000 dollars??? If you make more you don't qualify?????

    When you say "income," make sure you're talking about "Countable Income"--that's the important concept for purposes of the application......Take all unreimbursed medical expenses (assisted living facility/nursing home costs, home health care services, Rx costs, health insurance premiums, etc) and deduct those expenses from your (in your question, a couple's) income to come up with "Countable Income." This, along with total assets, is what the VA uses to determine financial eligibility.

    Thanks for linking that worksheet, Jandy! The income limit for A&A is roughly $80,000.
