Audit of Assets, Income and/or Expenses

    Can anyone describe the Audit process?

    Medicaid currently has a five year look-back period with an extensive audit trail. Is it the same for Veteran Aid? I would appreciate any experience(s) any of you had with the Audit aspect of the application process. Thank you in advance for any and all replies!

    The VA does not have a look-back clause like Medicaid. They only ask for income and expenses from the day of the application through the next 12 months. They do not request any verification of medical expenses unless things do not appear to be proper.
