How is the monetary amount for aid and attendance determined for the spouse of a deceased veteran?
If her income after all medical expenses, including the expense of a full-time caregiver, is 10,000, how is the amount awarded calculated?

Look under the "Tips and Resource" tab here on the forums, and look at "Countable Income".

oh I know about the accountable income. I meant how do they determine how much money is awarded?

It depends on where the applicant is at the end of the month after paying for care. As an example: Applicant has $1500 a month in income from all sources, but is paying $2500 a month for care. They are negative $1000 at the end of the month. This would result in a clear demonstration of a financial need for the pension to pay for care, and would result in the highest award.

Another scenario that is not this big of a negative may lead to a partial award.

It all depends on what assets are, monthly incomes, and what is being paid for care and services.
