Here is the situation -- 96 yr. old father is in Oklahoma.  He is in the hospital & will be going from there to an assisted living facility in the same town as his residence -- probably a week from today.  He is not selling his house.  I, his daughter, am helping him with the application for A & A -- I live in Nebraska.  Which address should I use for him on his application?  He is not mentally incompetent but can be confused.  I am concerned about his being able to intercept his mail and get it to me.  Is there any way I can get the VA to send to me?
I don't see anywhere on the application a place for this.
Thanks for all the help I've already found on this site.  I am losing sleep over trying to figure all this out.

The application needs to go to the Pension Center that handles his state which is:

St Paul Pension Maintencance Center
Veterans Administration
1 federal Drive, Fort Snelling
St. Paul, MN  55111-4050

Good luck with the process.

I have a similar question. If I understand correctly, Mary, you're asking about which address to use for your dad. I will be preparing the application for my M-I-L, and if VA were to send anything to her at the assisted living, I'm going to need to intercept it because of her dementia. It's a dilemma, because I have all her business correspondence sent to me, but the VA application doesn't look like it allows for that. I hope someone here knows a work-around.

For the address, you can use "care of" - I use "c/o child's address" so that VA correspondence gets picked up by the family and not the senior with dementia.  Same with the phone number.
