I was told an income only irrevocable trust is considered an "available asset" --- does anyone know the VA rules about irrevocable trusts.

I was also told that an IRA in which the Veteran is taking minimum distributions -- should be counted as income but not as an asset as an IRA is not convertible to cash without significant tax penalties.
