For whatever reason, we didn't receive my father's recertification notice, & his A&A benefit has lapsed.  Now I'm dithering with the forms.  Couple of quick questions - anyone familiar with Form 21-0516-1, Imporoved Pension Eligibility Verification Report?  My initial question is regarding the questions regarding "Nursing Home", 4A through 4C.  On our original claim, we filled out a "Nursing Home Status Statement", even though he actually lives in a "Residential Care home", & filled it out accordingly.  Now.  Question 4A on the new form says "Are you a patient in a nursing home?"  Is that a yes or a no???  Heaven knows, I don't want to give the "wrong answer".  Technically, no he is not in a nursing home.  But we filled out a "nursing home form" before.  Pleeeease help if you know. Thanks so much!! Jennifer

Yaay!! Thank you!!!

Also - The man at VA said I only needed to send in the form I mentioned above-21-0516-1, and a form 21-8416, which is a Medical Expense Report.  That doesn't seem like alot.  Originally, I had to have signed proof from the AL & doctor, etc, to show he could not live alone, & how how much he was paying for AL, plus bank statements, etc.
This just says "You MAY be asked to verify the amounts you actually paid, so keep all receipts" etc.  Seems like I see alot of "snags" coming down the line?  Like more than likely, aren't they going to want documentation??

He already 'proved' he was eligible w/ doc note etc.....with the original application.
They only want to make sure you are spending the $$ correctly.
