I recently wrote to inquire about the status of my mothers application for A&A and with lightening speed, I received a form letter that stated "we are still working in your claim for Pension".  It's amazing how fast they get these letters out.  I did send a copy of my letter to them to my congresswoman with the hope that I would get more attention.  "Squeaky wheel gets the grease" - I don't think that is working well . . .  It's only been 5-1/2 months and we are hanging on here at home - waiting for a decision on A&A and then have to amend application to cover homebound benefits.  Guess we'll hunker down for the winter.    Wishing others the very best in your pursuit of decisions from the VA.  Just checking in - and will keep everyone posted

Kat

Unfortunatley, the only thing the VA seems to do with any speed is send out those "heart felt" form letters.

I just received an email yesterday from a woman who like you never thought the day would come, who finally received the first check for her mom.

As a word of encouragement, don't give up, and keep following up.  As you said, "The Squeaky Wheel".

Please continue to keep us posted.
