Looking for a possible reason why my father's aid and attendance benefit stopped.

If it stopped suddenly, the first thing to look at is the EVR. If it was sent out, and not completed and returned by the designated time, the VA will promptly stop payments. As a suggestion, this should be the first thing you look at and you need to call the VA to inquire.
If you are not familiar with the annual EVR process, this is required annually by the VA to determine if the applicant still meets the requirements for the pension.

if an EVR was sent out, the claimant has until the end of march to return it before benefits are suspended.
it could be any number of things.
sir - call the VA and ask. that is the best way to handle this situation. the rep will look in the computer system to see why they stopped and will let you know what to do.
the most common reason benefits stop without notice is if a check was returned to VA. that could be due to a bad address. did he move? and not tell va?
if its not that then there are more reasons, but without any background, you need to call them.

another option is to use iris.va.gov. This site allows you to send inquiries directly to the office that is handling the benefit in question. Much better than the call centers (in my opinion).
