Just a note to let everyone here know I am in Washington, DC for a meeting with a Senator tomorrow morning with the hope of getting some endorsements for getting this pension to a national level and to hold the VA accountable for it.  Keep positive thoughts that this trip will help to make a difference.

The trip was a success and will be going back.  This is a slow process, but hopeful in the end necessary changes will come about.

Thank you for the comments and support.  It is greatly appreciated.

I take exception to that, and it does makes perfect sense when millions are entitled and don't know about this pension.  If it were as common knowledge as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, then my parents would have had $160,000 to help pay for their care over a 9-year period, and this website and forums would not exist.

AMEN!!
