I just had my mother's evr returned today because I didn't check the box regarding if medicaid pays for her nursing home although i checked NO in the box which asks if she is in a nursing home. She is in an assisted living facility...last year her benefits were suspended for over 4 months because of a minor issue on the evr. It seems like the va looks for trivialities to interfere with benefits...but ultimately it is worth the endless hassle. I just wish SOMEONE would actually provide real information if you finally get to speak with a real representative.

When leaving a question blank because it doesnt appply to your situatuion, like the medicaid question on the evr form, I would put n/a (not applicable) in any blank space

My mom passed away 2 weeks after receiving the EVR form.  It is now lost in all the confusion but I made the assumption that I wouldn't need to fill it out since she died before the 3/1 deadline for the form.  I am in a panic today thinking that if the EVR form is about last year then I should complete it and attach her death certificate.  Does anyone know the answer to this?Huh  I would hate for them to request back payment because I didn't complete the form.  HELP!!!!!!!

Have you informed the VA of her passing?  That's all you need to do.
