My 90 year old mother  (with Alzheimer's) is receiving masshealth/medicaid  funding so that I can keep her at home.

However, because of the countable portion of the A&A grant, she has to pay a $3300 deductible twice a year to Mass Health before services are active.

Is there any option of keeping the A&A ($333/month, non-countable) portion of the grant but opting NOT TO KEEP the non-countable  pension  portion of $666/month? (This pension amount puts her income $68/month over the frail elder waiver, which translates to $6600 deductible.)

Again, the question:  can one keep ONLY the A&A $333/month portion? and refuse the countable portion of grant?

thanks
