My mother has FINALLY had her medical need established...but she was denied due to her income. I just received the letter today. It looks like her income is $27 over the limit.

It says she can apply when her medical expenses increase. I started this process in Feb, working with the local vet rep. She moved to a nursing home a few weeks ago, so yes, her expenses are way up...and her assets are nearly depleted from what little she had.

Will the increased expenses really make her eligible? Will the effective date be now or back to Feb since some of the new expenses started in March. (paying for an aid to dress her, give meds, etc.)

I am so tired of back and forth with paperwork. I doing all the work on this and it's very frustating.
