I submitted a 42 pg application for va assist for my 83 yr old mother back in july of this yr. Just this week, I received a packet requesting additional information. As I am full time caregiver for my mother they are asking for a "Care Expense Statement", which they forgot to include in the packet. I called & was told to use a "statement in support of claim" form, which i printed from the va website. My question is: What specific information should i provide on this form that will help my mom get approval? She pays me $1,000 a month, which greatly reduces her income, for my full-time caregiving duties. I have sent them copies of bank statements reflecting this. Also, she lives in a house that only my husband and myself own. Should I mention the mortgage of that house and the association dues as an expense I pay to support her?

I also submitted letters from her dr & opt regarding being housebound and legally blind w/ the original application. Do I need to send additional evidence, or will these suffice? thank you very much for your help, js
