If a veteran is recieving a disability check monthly from the VA, is he or she still eligible for the Aid and Attendance Benefit?  Thanks for your help.

A veteran can elect to receive whichever benefit is to his/her advantage.  He/she will remain service connected but will receive benefits under the non-service connected pension program with A&A if that is to his/her advantage.

There is also a benefit under the compensation program called SMC (Special Monthly Compensation) and some people refer to that as A&A also.

I am assuming that you meet the other requirements for the non-service connected pension program for the A&A.

Hope this answers your question.
