Hi:

We sold my Mother's house last year.  When completing the EVR, does that amount go under Annual Income and also the Net Worth section (Interest Bearing Bank Account)?  I'm reluctant to put it in two places as I don't want it to look like she has more than she really has.

Also, I paid her January ALF bill in December 2011.  Can I still count that as medical expenses for 2011, just being sure I do not count it again in 2012?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Kathy,

Since we do not assist with completion of forms, I can't say for certain where you should note it, but I do know you don't want to put it in two places.  The VA will count it twice.

If you paid the bill out of your own money in Janurary, she can't count that.

Hoping someone on here who has had your experience will jump in and help out.

Hi:

Thanks for your response.

Sorry, I wasn't specific about the January 2012 payment to ALF.  It was paid out of my Mother's money, not mine.  It was paid out in December 2011 for January 2012.

Thanks!

She paid it in 2011, so claim it.
