How does one actually talk with someone from the VA about an A&A application?  My father filed his application in June, 2011 and since then has only gotten periodic letters saying his application is under review.  When he tried to call the number in the letter (Philadelphis office), he was told that all reps were busy and they could make an appointment to call him back and gave him an appointment for a week later.  That's doay and at the appointed time they called him and the message system said they were having technical difficulties and would call him back in 10 minutes. That was an hour ago and he is still waiting.  It is shameful to be treating veterans this way.

At 8 monhts out, I would contact his Senator and ask them to make an inquiry to the status of his application.  No excuse it should out this far.

With calling the VA, it is better to call mid-week and later in the day during less peak times.

Good luck with that!   I tried our senator, he supposedly filed something but we haven't heard anything.  They are still peculating the  claim, we filed in Nov. 2010, it was denied...they filed it incorrectly...instead of Aid and Attendance, they filed DIC and did not take Mom's expenses into account.  We gave them the correct information and in May, 2011 it was under consideration again.  After 17 phone calls, we still have no decision!  Mom is 90 years old and it is quite frustrating to constantly be given the run around.  I've filed two inquiries.  One was answered within 10 days the last one has been 33 days, I was told I could talk to a supervisor....guess what, there is no supervisor at the call center.  It's been a waste of time.  I'm not sure where to go now.  The person that has helped me with this said to be patient, I think this is way past being patient now!  If you have any answers, I'd love to hear them!
