hi all
i have a question dealing with medicare.  if the state of tennessee is paying my mom medicare premiums and copayments(qmb), will this change once her income increases because she is receiving a&a.  will this extra income make her have to start paying the medicare premiums? thanks for responses in advance.

These regulations are different state by state, but if the state is paying this for her, then she cannot claim the expense.

hi
so you are saying that the state will eventually stop paying this for her and she will be responsible for paying the premiums herself.  am i understanding you correctly?

No, not saying that.  We don't deal with any Medicaid, or Medicare issues, but if she were paying it, then she can claim it as anallowable  expense.  Please see this link on Countable Income. http://www.veteranaid.org/forums/index.php/topic,1313.0.html
