Hi all,
In reading the info on this site....I'm not sure I qualify for this....and I have been told by VA rep I can get ChampVA ins and deferred tax on 1 acre and a home. This I am receiving now.
AND I'M OH SO THANKFUL FOR THIS!!!BUT My husband was 100%  VA disabled vet. He did not die from the disabling injury(Back) he died of Nasal Phanex cancer, 2/2011 and he was not 100% disabled for 10 yrs...so this disqualifies me, the spouse from drawing monetary benefits from the VA.

I never heard of the aid attendant benefit till today....I have read and re-read some on this site and it (seems) that on some pages I might qualify and then I read another page and I'm not sure....I own my home and 49 acres a car and have some ins money.....but as an income I earn under 11.000 per year.....having to constantly dip in to ins money to meet monthly bills.
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL IF I DO OR  DO NOT QUALIFY

I don't want anything I do not qualify for, but my husband died thinking I would still get a benefit because he was considered 100% disabled!! I think he would want me to find something he felt he earned by serving his country.

I'm still trying to figure this all out too but if you haven't read this section it might help.
To qualify financially, an applicant must have on average less than $80,000 in assets, EXCLUDING their home and vehicles.
From this page of the website. http://www.veteranaid.org/eligibility.php

This pension is based on "need"  You do not mention anything about needing assistance with your day-to-day living.  That is what this is for, so in the event you require "assistance" that you have the means to help offset the cost.

It might help if you looked at the "countable" income tab here on the forums to better understand how to arrive at this figure and see what is an allowable medical expense.

If your husband's dates of service qualify in the Approved Period of War, then if and when you have needs for assistance, then yes, you would be eligible to apply for this pension regardless of the 100%.
