question about how funds can be used

My sister and I navigated the process on our own to secure the aid and attendance pension for our father. . . wish we had found this forum sooner!
Received news this week that he was approved. My sister has already been appointed the fiduciary and our retroactive check has arrived. We're looking at having to replace the washing machine in our Dad's household and are wondering if the funds can be used for this purpose.

You will have to check with the VA as there are specfic requirements for the person acting as fiduciary and how the money can be spent.
Glad you were successful in getting through the process and getting the pension for you Dad.

my brother has my power of attorney, if I am approved does he have to show how the money is spent. The gov't has declared me to be 100% disabled,
I also live with my brother. I am service connected.
how much would I be awarded for aid and attendance.

This is applicable only in the event the VA makes a ruling of incompetency that a Fiduciary has to be appointed. The VA does not recognize POA.
Given that you are rated at 100% you are eligible for an approximate of $686 a month if you now require the assistance of someone for your day-to-day living.
If that is the case, you would not need to complete the application. Simply complete VA form 21-4138 Statement in Support of Claim stating that you now require assistance for day-to-day living, and a VA form (medical) 21-2680 with your Dr. stating such.
Thank you for your service.

No, the 100% should be higher than that, and then you add the A&A piece. Should be close to 3K+ a month.

If you need assistance with your day-to-day living, it is an approximate $686 for the A&A part.
