Hi all
I'm new to this board, and need help with this issue:
Husband (veteran) and Wife, both elderly and frail, had home health aids assiting them with dressing, bathing, etc. at home.
- They applied for A&A pension, and the claims agent asked the home health agencies to provide detailed billing reports that illustrate how much help they each get, and for what, and which spouse was provided the assistance.

Meanwhile, wife just died, before we've had a chance to submit the requested info.  How does this change things?  I assume that the pendion award will now be limited to just what the veteran himself needs, in order to cover his medical bills.  How should VA be informed?  Do we have start over?

Thanks in advance for any help!

No you don't need to start over.

Just get a statement from the agency about the services for the veteran and the monthly costs.  Send in a VA form 21-4138 Statment in Support of Claim updating the VA that the application is now just for the vet letting them know the spouse has passed.

Yes, the pension will be reduced to just the veteran.
