VETERAN WIDOW BENEFITS

My mother is 86 and my father has been deceased for over 40 years.  My father served in WWII but they were not married at that time. She just advised us that she has never received any military pension and not sure if she is entitled since they were not married at the time he was in enlisted.   From what I understand she may be entitled to some benefit but not really sure what and how to go about it.  She is wanting to move into a senior citizen facility and we are looking at what her options and income may be in order to find the right facility for her.  Any help and assistance to point me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

Your mom did not need to be married to your dad during his time in service to be eligible for this pension.

I am assuming that your mom did not remarry after your dad passed away??
