Got the first check today!!

After 10 months of waiting and filling out paperwork my mom received her first A & A retro-pay today!! It was well worth the wait and I encourage everyone to do this. Call your local VA office and ask for a Veterans Service Officer and they can guide you through the qualification and the l-o-n-g application process . They will pay you from the day they receive your application. My mom got 10 months of benefits today and her first monthly benefit will start on the first. It will be so nice to have the money to help pay for her assisted-living and I know my dad, the veteran, is looking down and very grateful to the VA for helping her.
