After seven months of the typical denial after denial, we finally got A&A started for my mom in February 2010.  She passed away in October 2010 and the VA has continued to send the payments.  Countless hours have been wasted on the phone trying to get someone to 1. stop the payments and 2. either transfer the money out of her account or let us know where to send it.

Looks like Step 1 MAY have finally happened as there has been no pay yet for this month.

Has anyone had this problem?  Have any suggestions?

On another note.  After several rejections even using the suggestions I got from this forum I called my congressman and AMAZINGLY had approval within 3 days and money a week later.

Let the funds go to people that deserve and need it.

After receiving full A&A for 2 1/2 years, my Mom went into a nursing home from assisted living in January.  Had a phone call and a letter from the VA confirming receipt of my letter of the change and assured me the full benefits would stop and she'd receive $90/month since she's now on Medicaid.  Guess what?  Full benefits received again this month.  I've moved money each month into a separate account and will return as soon as they tell me how much and where to send it!!  It's so frustrating to go through the process to get it started and then frustrating to get it stopped.

I would go to iris.va.gov to report it.
