Hi, I am having difficulty finding a bank that will allow me to open the custodial checking account for the retro pay to be deposited into. I went to Chase Bank and Harris Bank. Can anyone tell me which banks will allow this?
Thanks!

I don't recall reading anything about a custodial checking account.
What is the reason for this?
Thanks,

Instructions given by VA rep when we had our personal visit to determine Fiduciary.....this was before we ever received a check.

there are some threads on this elsewhere on this site; if you do a search you should be able to find them.  Others have mentioned Wells Fargo

Hello:

We just met with an elderly care lawyer this week.  The checking account is set up to contribute the retro-active payment from the VA Aid and Assistance that a vet, spouse or dependents may receive.  Our lawyer suggested that our parent, who we are caring for in our home, make the payment to one or more of the children for back pay of services.  Then we open a bank account to place the funds in and save for when our mother has a need or emergency.[/color]
