I am reviewing the application 21-526 and want to make sure I understand this correctly.  When I actually submit the application I will also be including proof of assets.  Is a copy of the current IRA statement, bank statement showing checking and saving balance, bank statement that shows auto deposit for SS and pension going to be adequate to support my claim.

The reason for my confusion is that my local Veterans Service Commission is very helpful and has a great track record of getting this pension for vets.  However I neglected to ask him, when he sent me the document list needed, if we actually send the copies of the above listed accounts with the application.

Has anyone ever been asked to show past tax returns?

Past tax returns would be a rareity and more than likely only asked if there is some issue in question, but not going in on the initial application.

What the VA wants is income sources verified, and by providing a summary of all income, you will be fine.

Thank you for answering the tax return question.  Will I be sending copies of bank statements, etc?  Not sure if copies of bank accounts, etc will need to be provided to support the written list of income.  THanks.

Current statements from all resources of income and banking, and most recent SS award letter.

Trust me, if the VA wants or needs anything else, they will let you know.
