Can someone tell me what are the specific income limits to receive A & A? I think I've found what it is for a surviving spouse, but I'm not sure if someone is married or for a veteran, etc. Could someone please help? Thanks!

There is no income limit.  The VA subtracts recurring medical expenses from the claimant's income and then compares that net amount to the monthly pension.  If the net amount is lower than the pension, the claimant receives a pension amount.  If it is higher, then the claimant receives nothing.

Example - single vet with $2000 monthly income. Lives in assisted living at $2500 month.  $2000 minus $2500 = -$500 each month of income.  So vet would be eligible for max pension.

single vet with $4000 monthly income.  Medical expenses of $1000.  Net income is now $3000.  He would not be eligible because his net monthly income is higher than the pension

Make sense?  So, technically there is no income limit.  It's all based on income versus countable recurring medical expenses.
